Godzilla is the King of the Monsters. Godzilla is an icon. Godzilla is everywhere.
The giant Japanese monster has stormed the mediasphere for seventy years, ever since it burst onto the scene in 1954 like a nuclear explosion—shaking up the Japanese cultural industry and embedding itself in the global collective imagination.

The original film—titled Gojira, a blend of gorira (“gorilla”) and kujira (“whale”)—directed by Ishirō Honda, is an apocalyptic parable that dredges up the suppressed trauma of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
It now takes on new life with a **unique live soundtrack performance by Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle) and C+C=Maxigross**.

Ishirō Honda (1911–1993) was a Japanese director, best known for directing the original Godzilla (1954) and pioneering the kaiju genre. His work combines social critique and entertainment, leaving an indelible mark on Japanese cinema and global pop culture.

Marco Fasolo is a musician, composer, and producer. He is the founder and frontman of Jennifer Gentle, the first Italian band signed by the legendary label Sub Pop.

C+C=Maxigross is a psych-folk collective. In 2025, they released their ninth album, Nuova Era Oscura – Vol.1, on the Dischi Sotterranei label.

Il mostro gigante giapponese imperversa nella mediasfera da settant’anni, da quando, nel 1954, esplode come una detonazione nucleare, sconvolgendo l’industria culturale giapponese e penetrando nell’immaginario collettivo globale.

At the end of the Sanctuary Way stands the architectural complex known as Villa Duodo, built by the noble Venetian Duodo family on the site of the ancient castle known as San Giorgio.

On the right, the oldest wing dates back to 1593 and is the work of architect Vincenzo Scamozzi. The front section, added in 1740, is the most recent.
To the left of the complex lies the exedra dedicated to Saint Francis Xavier, a grand stone staircase from the 1600s.

Villa Pisani is located in the historic center of Monselice next to the "Bisatto", a canal connecting Padua and Montagnana, once navigable. The edifice was built in the XVI century for Francesco Pisani di Zuanne (1514-1567), a noble patrician of Venice, who used it as a country house, a dwelling to stop by on the occasion of his frequent travels from and to Montagnana, where the wealthy family resided.

Paolo Schiamazzi is an artist known for his ability to craft intimate and disorienting soundscapes. In his three albums _Suppellettili_ (2018), _Guasto totale comunicazione_ (2021), and _Aiutante magico_ (2022)  he blends linguistic sensitivity, subtle irony, and oblique melodies through a deeply handcrafted approach. His music embraces minimalism and spontaneity, favoring refined yet unpretentious solutions that challenge conventional vocal structures. The listener is invited into a unique auditory experience, where poetry and experimentation coexist, striking a balance between accessibility and innovation.

Paolo Schiamazzi è un artista noto per la capacità di costruire paesaggi sonori intimi e spiazzanti. Nei suoi tre album-  _Suppellettili_(2018), _Guasto totale comunicazione_ (2021) e _Aiutante magico_ (2022) – fonde attenzione linguistica, ironia sottile e melodie oblique attraverso un lavoro artigianale profondo. La sua musica abbraccia il minimalismo e la spontaneità, prediligendo soluzioni raffinate ma senza pretese che sfidano le strutture canore convenzionali. A creative and scientific workshop to discover what bioplastics are and how they can be made using simple ingredients and recycled materials.
During the activity, each participant will experiment with different recipes to create their own bioplastic, using natural ingredients such as starch, potato starch, orange peels, eggshells, and even mussel shells! Every child will take home their own bioplastics.

Un laboratorio creativo e scientifico, per scoprire cosa sono le bioplastiche e come si possono realizzare con ingredienti semplici e materiali di recupero.
Durante l’attività, ciascun partecipante sperimenterà ricette diverse per creare la propria Bioplastica, utilizzando ingredienti naturali come amido, fecola, bucce d’ arancia, gusci d’ uovo e persino gusci di cozze! Ogni bambino porterà a casa le proprie bioplastiche.

In the heart of the Euganean Hills, where volcanic profiles rise from the Venetian plain and the landscape preserves deep traces of stories, communities, and traditions, **Euganea Film Residency** is born: a new training and audiovisual production program dedicated to creative documentary filmmaking, promoted by Euganea Movie Movement.

Euganea Film Residency is an immersive experience where cinema becomes a tool for observation, listening, and engagement with the territory. For ten days, emerging filmmakers and artists will be invited to live in and explore the Euganean Hills, transforming encounters, places, and impressions into cinematic material.

**From August 25 to September 3**, selected participants will work on the creation of a short film, individually or in groups, supported by a team of professional tutors who will guide them through every stage of the creative process: from concept development and writing to directing and post-production.

The Euganean Hills provide an ideal setting for this kind of experience. It is a territory where nature, memory, and human presence coexist in balance, offering a unique space for research and experimentation for those interested in contemporary documentary practices. Forests, vineyards, small villages, community initiatives, and local knowledge become opportunities for encounter and storytelling, fostering a continuous dialogue between artistic creation and reality.

During the residency, participants will take part in intensive workshops focused on screenwriting, directing, and editing, as well as project mentoring sessions and collective discussions with industry professionals. The program will be coordinated by filmmaker and educator **Davide Crudetti** and supported by a team of tutors including **Beatrice Segolini, Alessandro Padovani, Michele Sammarco, Giulia Mancassola, and Davor Marinkovic**.

The outcomes of the residency—teasers or rough cuts of the projects developed—will be presented to the public during the 25th edition of Euganea Film Festival, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 6, 2026.

**Who Can Apply**

The open call is addressed to filmmakers, graduates of film schools, and artists under the age of 35 who wish to deepen their engagement with documentary filmmaking and contemporary audiovisual creation.

Applications may be submitted individually or as a collective project team. The residency is open to applicants of all backgrounds and nationalities.

**How to Apply**

Participation in the residency is free of charge. Euganea Movie Movement will provide accommodation and meals for all selected participants throughout the residency, as well as during the preliminary location visit scheduled for August 3–4, 2026.

Applications must be submitted **by June 30, 2026**, through the dedicated online application form. Selected applicants will be notified by July 15, 2026.

Nel cuore dei Colli Euganei, dove i profili vulcanici emergono dalla pianura veneta e il paesaggio conserva tracce profonde di storie, comunità e tradizioni, nasce **Euganea Film Residency**, il nuovo programma di formazione e produzione audiovisiva dedicato al cinema del reale promosso da Euganea Movie Movement.

Euganea Film Residency è un percorso immersivo in cui il cinema diventa strumento di osservazione, ascolto e relazione con il territorio. Per dieci giorni, giovani filmmaker e artisti saranno invitati a vivere e attraversare i Colli Euganei, trasformando incontri, luoghi e suggestioni in materia cinematografica.

**Dal 25 agosto al 3 settembre 2026**, i partecipanti selezionati lavoreranno alla realizzazione di un cortometraggio, individualmente o in gruppo, accompagnati da un team di tutor professionisti che li seguirà in tutte le fasi del processo creativo: dall'ideazione alla scrittura, dalla regia alla post-produzione.

I Colli Euganei rappresentano un contesto privilegiato per un'esperienza di questo tipo. Un territorio dove natura, memoria e presenza umana convivono in equilibrio, offrendo uno spazio di ricerca ideale per chi desidera confrontarsi con i linguaggi del documentario contemporaneo. Boschi, vigneti, piccoli centri abitati, pratiche comunitarie e saperi locali diventano così occasione di incontro e racconto, in un dialogo continuo tra creazione artistica e realtà.

Durante la residenza, i partecipanti prenderanno parte a workshop intensivi dedicati a sceneggiatura, regia e montaggio, attività di mentoring sul progetto e momenti di confronto collettivo con professionisti del settore. Il percorso sarà coordinato dal regista e formatore **Davide Crudetti** e sostenuto da un team di tutor composto da **Beatrice Segolini, Alessandro Padovani, Michele Sammarco, Giulia Mancassola e Davor Marinkovic**.

I risultati della residenza – teaser o rough cut dei progetti sviluppati – saranno presentati al pubblico all'interno della 25ª edizione di Euganea Film Festival, in programma dal 28 agosto al 6 settembre 2026.

**A chi si rivolge**

La call è aperta a filmmaker, diplomati e diplomate di scuole di cinema, artiste e artisti under 35 interessati ad approfondire i linguaggi del cinema del reale e della creazione audiovisiva contemporanea.
È possibile candidarsi sia individualmente sia come gruppo di lavoro. La partecipazione è aperta a candidate e candidati di qualsiasi provenienza e nazionalità.

La partecipazione alla residenza è gratuita. Euganea Movie Movement garantirà vitto e alloggio ai partecipanti selezionati per tutta la durata della residenza e del sopralluogo preliminare previsto il 3 e 4 agosto 2026.

Euganea Film Residency: Open Call for a New Residency Dedicated to Creative Documentary Filmmaking in the Euganean Hills

**Applications are open for the 4th edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp, the documentary lab for projects produced in North-Eastern Italy.**

The three partner festivals — Bolzano Film Festival Bozen, Euganea Film Festival and Pordenone Docs Fest — with the support of IDM Film Commission Südtirol, Trentino Film Commission, Veneto Film Commission, Friuli Venezia Giulia Film Commission, and in collaboration with Fondo Audiovisivo FVG, launch the 4th edition of Nord/Est/Doc/Camp, a consultancy and tutoring lab aimed at **four medium-length and feature-length documentaries produced or co-produced in North-Eastern Italy**. After three editions, the lab has established itself as a unique opportunity and key meeting point for producers and authors from the Triveneto area.

Applications are now open, with a **deadline for project submission on 10 February 2026.**

Nord/Est/Doc/Camp offers a step-by-step programme of feedback, networking and training across the partner festivals, providing directors and producers — in an informal setting — access to the expertise of selected professionals through a series of meetings and workshops designed to bring out the full potential of works in progress: from editing to post-production, from festivals to distribution, with the aim of strengthening the films’ profiles and dramaturgy and expanding their circulation and distribution prospects.

The project is open to documentary and hybrid (non-fiction) films in the editing phase, produced or co-produced by companies based in Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with a planned final running time of over **45 minutes**.

The first three editions involved 12 projects, including in 2023 Lisca bianca – Nata libera by Giuseppe Galante and Giorgia Sciabbica (produced by Ginko Film) and The Other Side of the Pipe by Marko Kumer (produced by Incipit Film), both premiered at last year’s Visioni dal Mondo festival in Milan, and Vista mare by Julia Gutweniger and Florian Kofler (produced by Albolina Film), presented at Locarno’s Critics’ Week and at numerous international festivals, winner of the Best Italian Documentary Award at Festival dei Popoli and distributed by Trent Film. Among the 2024 projects, My Boyfriend El Fascista by Matthias Lintner won the First Steps Award 2025 for Best Documentary in Berlin.

CANONE EFFIMERO is a sensitive journey into the musical traditions of different Italian regions. It begins like a cinematic poem, where the sounds of music meet the ancestral tones of dialects, delving deep into the soul of rural communities. And into the depths of our own. We dive into something essential, almost lost, and therefore even more precious. Then the film swells like a river that changes its course and accepts to become the ethnographic work it is meant to be. It captures—again and again—the fragments of this heritage that are more important than the cinematic form itself. They must absolutely be placed upon this Noah’s Ark in order to be saved.

VOYAGE A GAZA, filmed in 2018, begins as the logbook of a young traveler confronted with the discovery of this open-air prison. Seguendo un’entomologa indiana, specialista delle farfalle notturne, nelle sue ricerche nelle foreste lussureggianti ai piedi dell’Himalaya, i cineasti ci aprono le porte di un mondo affascinante e ci invitano a ripensare alla vertiginosa molteplicità del vivente.

_Canone effimero_ è un viaggio sensibile alla scoperta delle tradizioni musicali di diverse regioni italiane. Inizia come una poesia cinematografica, dove le sonorità della musica incontrano quelle ancestrali dei dialetti, per scavare nel profondo dell’anima delle comunità rurali. E nel profondo della nostra. Ci si immerge in qualcosa di essenziale, quasi perduto, e proprio per questo ancora più prezioso. Poi il film cresce come un fiume che prende un altro corso e accetta di diventare l’opera etnografica che deve essere. Cattura – ancora e ancora – i frammenti di quel patrimonio che sono più importanti della forma cinematografica. È necessario farli salire su quest’arca di Noè per salvarli.

JOURNEY INTO GAZA di Piero Usberti (2024, Francia, Italia)
_Voyage à Gaza_, girato nel 2018, inizia come il diario di bordo di un giovane viaggiatore alle prese con la scoperta di questa prigione a cielo aperto. Ben presto, però, il regista Piero
Usberti lascia che il documentario gli sfugga di mano, portato ormai dagli incontri con un gruppo di giovani adulti che devono fare i conti con la realtà del loro territorio. Siamo nel 2018 e, nonostante il senso di prigionia, il tempo è quello della speranza e delle possibilità.

I suoi molteplici punti di vista trattano tematiche contemporanee strettamente connesse alla nostra realtà e alle istanze etiche sulle quali ognuno di noi si trova oggigiorno a riflettere, ampliando la discussione attraverso nuove e urgenti domande a cui, in futuro, probabilmente, dovremo trovare delle risposte.

Per la sua universalità nello spazio e nel tempo, il suo lirismo cinematografico capace di offrire una prospettiva diversa sui territori palestinesi, un invito a coglierne la bellezza e il loro spirito originario, in anni segnati da narrazioni di guerra, distruzione e sofferenza. Attraverso l’uso dell’archivio e la capacità di rielaborarlo e dargli un nuovo significato, ribalta lo sguardo colonialista occidentale e restituisce il legittimo spazio e identità a questo Paese e alle persone che lo abitano, rimettendoli al centro del discorso e della visione, rendendoli nuovamente protagonisti.
